THE LONDON POLICE
This year has seen the return of Bob Gibson to The London Police after five years of touring with the band ‘MOSS’ and flipping burgers in a filthy Dutch snackbar. And so the original foundingmembers are re-embarking on their quest to combine making artworkand travelling the globe to better themselves and spread artisticlove through the world. The blueprint for this year was to producesolid back-to-basics black and white artworks collaborating theiconic LADS characters drawn by CHAZ with the tight architecturaland illustrative landscapes of BOB GIBSON.
To celebrate 10 years in the field TLP penned in shows for LONDON(april), AMSTERDAM (may), LOS ANGELES (sept) and NEW YORK (dec).*The London Police started when big english geezers headed toAmsterdam in 1998 to rejuvenate the visually disappointing streetsof the drug capital of the world.
The motive was to combine traveling and making art to create anamazing way of life not seen since the days of king soloman. Knownfor their iconic LADS characters and precision marking TLP haverecently celebrated 10 strong years in the art world and their workhas graced streets and galleries in 35 countries during this time.London policemen have come and gone but founding members are stillknown to walk the streets of every city in the world spreading lovewith pens and stickers.
The current duo have managed to form a partnership more cohesivethan Han Solo and Chewbacca in Star Wars and are continuing toproduce slick artwork that is tighter than a butlers cuff. Never bescared, don’t be a hero and let the good times roll.
